The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana  directly promotes and supports Acadiana's unique musical culture by providing instruments, master teachers and music scholarships to students of all ages as well as funding for community based organizations that support our rich musical community and promote our culture in southwest Louisiana.  Over $55,000 have been granted to these types of organizations across Louisiana.  DONATE HERE!

$10,000 was granted to the newly developed Gifted/Talented Music Program at St. Martin Parish Schools.  Click here for more.  

$1,880 was granted to Woodvale Elementary for "French Week".  Students were immersed in the French language, as well as Cajun Music and Art.  

$500 was granted to "Les Etoiles de Louisane". This young Lafayette singing group will travel to New Foundland in June. They will sing with a choir from L’École des Grands-Vents, a francophone school in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Visit https://lesetoiles.exchange/ 

 

$2,000 granted Acadiana Center for the Arts in support of Project LoLA: Art + Technology Experiment. Louisiana Folk Roots and Old Fiddlers' Association will teach youth from Lafayette and Chattanooga, Tenn. a song specific to their respective region, including a Cajun or Creole song and an old-time fiddle tune.  READ MORE
