The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana directly promotes and supports Acadiana's unique musical culture by providing instruments, master teachers and music scholarships to students of all ages as well as funding for community based organizations that support our rich musical community and promote our musical culture in southwest Louisiana. $5,000 grant to Le Reveil du Francais which directly supports the French Immersion program in St. Martin Parish.
$1,000 was granted to Cecilia Junior High School. The funds will be used to complete a French Documentary that will focus on preserving our French language through education and music.
The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana is a proud sponsor of the 2017 LA Folk Roots Kids Camp.
$5,000 was granted to the Paul Breaux Middle School Talented Arts Booster (TAB) for the annual Talented Arts Festival and to support Talented Arts programs. (Click Here for more).
$1,880 was granted to Woodvale Elementary for "French Week". Students were immersed in the French language, as well as Cajun Music and Art.
